This 6" x 6" grapevine star is filled with climate beneficial belly wool from our flock of Scottish Black Face and North Country Cheviot sheep. These stars offer momma birds a cozy, natural and insulating material to add to their nests to keep their babies safe and comfortable. This wool, which must be removed during shearing, is generally not suitable for spinning. The belly wool is hand picked into small tufts, each less than 3"for the safety of baby birds, and then stuffed into the natural grapevine star. They make a beautiful and functional addition to any backyard bird setup or garden.

Our flock of happy sheep are rotationally grazed on conservation land in Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA. The pastures are managed in such a way that the topsoil and root systems are actually trapping carbon from the atmosphere meaning this wool is not just good for baby birds but also good for the environment. All proceeds from sales go directly back into the farm.
